It always makes me happy to do something a bit more surreal. The hard part was making sure that the guys looked more like guys than the girls. I spent some time trying different eyes and settled on something less big and round. I've traditionally drawn the guys with horns and the girls without but in real life it's not really like that.
As for the joke itself, I'm trying to point out how ridiculous it is that men spend time each day clearing hair from their faces. Sheep wouldn't do it, and there's no reason that a human male should either, other than for cultural reasons - body language that says 'I conform'. (I like a beard - can you tell?)
