I think this happens at different times around the world, but here in the UK it got light and dark an hour earlier today.
It didn't really, and that's the joke. There's no 'saving' of daylight. It's more accurate to say that we're all agreeing to get up and go to bed an hour later. In fact if you're like me and miss the dawn completely (and if you conform to the business of getting up an hour later) then this scheme means that there's an hour less daylight each day, terrible news for us SAD sufferers.
The whole thing is a mystery to me, it still gets light and dark at the same times, there's the same amount of daylight. What changes is what we choose to call it.
