I have speedbumps on my road. I'm not 100% convinced of their value but I'd probably still rather have them than not. Is this because I've read the actual evidence about whether they slow the traffic or save lives? No, it's just based on assumptions.
If you don't like to think too much about these things, just enjoy the silly situation of having a speedbump in a field where no-one speeds anyway. (Except for the collie.)
